Hi! I'm Emily, a London based portrait, events and small business photographer with a real passion for capturing the little details which help to make you and your brand stand out from the crowd.
I approach all my photography projects with enthusiasm and creativity, and like to meet up with all new clients beforehand to have a good chat about your project and requirements. You can read some of the nice things my clients have said about working with me here.
If you'd like to discuss a project or a shoot then drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
What sort of photography work do you do?
I love working with people, and shoot a wide range of different photography work:
You can check out my blog for some of my most recent projects.
What's your style?
When people ask me this question I always answer with... creative and colourful! I love to travel, particularly to Asia and am influenced by the vibrancy of this beautiful continent. Even when photographing corporate events I enjoy finding interesting angles and focusing on colour and detail. I like to combine a mix of different shots including posed, candid and close-up shots as I think this fusion ties the whole shoot together and helps people to connect to my work. I always try to put people at ease when I'm photographing them, as I know what it's like to dislike having your photo taken!
What's your background and experience?
I started freelancing part time in 2009 whilst working in a corporate job as a learning & development advisor. I decided to turn my passion for photography and writing into a full time career and went back to uni to study photography. I've now got a BA Honours (First Class) Degree in Photography, have hosted several exhibitions in London and work as a freelance photographer and writer.
Who have you worked with?
I’ve worked with all sort of companies and creative people, from local community projects to large corporate companies, fashion models and artists. These include:
and lots more!
What are your interests?
I have a real passion for pop culture, particularly Japanese pop culture, and writing. I work as Fashion Editor for the official MCM Comic Con magazine called MyM Magazine. I edit an online magazine called Love Japan which I launched as an outlet for my interest in Japanese culture and I write for #Photography Magazine. My writing portfolio can be found here if you're interested.
How do you edit your photos?
I've also worked as a picture editor retouching celebrity portraits for magazines, so producing natural looking edits is a real passion of mine. I like to make you look the best version of yourself rather than like a plastic mannequin!
What are your prices?
I'm in the process of updating my price list so please drop me an email for a tailored quote.
What sort of equipment do you use?
I shoot on a Nikon full frame camera and a mixture of prime and zoom lenses. I also use flash, a reflector and a few other technical bits and bobs.
Where are you based, and do you travel?
I live in Greenwich but I’m more than happy to travel anywhere in the UK and beyond.
Do you use an assistant?
From time to time, if it’s a large wedding then I’ll bring an assistant.
How many images will I get?
It all depends on the length and style of the shoot. For a portrait or fashion shoot I’ll ask you to select your favourite 20 or so images and these will be edited in fine detail. For a full day, large wedding you’ll probably receive around 300-400 images. For an event, I’ll capture a range of wide angle, close-up, detail and people shots and a mix of candid and posed images.
How long will it take to get my photos?
All shoots are fully edited within 3 weeks (usually a lot sooner in quiet periods). If you need the photos by a specific deadline, just let me know.
How will you send me my photos?
All your photos will be viewable in the client area of my website. This is password protected and you’re welcome to give the password to friends and family so they can view the images.
Do you take a deposit?
I take a 25% deposit on booking (which is non refundable but transferable to another date). The balance for all shoots is due 1 week after you receive your images. You’ll receive an invoice which you can pay via bank transfer.
Do you have insurance?
Yes I have full public liability and professional indemnity insurance plus all my photography equipment is insured. I always bring a back up camera / lenses and shoot onto 2 memory cards as a precaution.
Can I share your images on social media?
Will you share my images on social media?
I love to share images of my shoots on social media, but if you don’t want me to, that’s also fine. Just let me know.
So I like your photos… what next?!
You can drop me an email at email@example.com. I’d love to meet up with you for a chat, but if it’s not possible we can talk over email / phone / Skype etc - whatever suits you best.
